I am the fish that knows / death is close

I am the fish that knows / death is close

A Poem by Elyralune
"

/ death is close

"

Darkness hid away my life:

I cowered beneath the eagle’s gaze,

I am the fish that knows

Death is close.

I am scared of many things,

But I hide behind a wall

Of bricks.

And when my freedom bell rang,

I ran with hope

Without looking back.

When life began to ask for

More than fear,

Is when I was challenged,

When I needed to choose.

Time will tell when

All choices are set.

dreadfully calm.

threats are all around but sometimes it isn't the eagle one should fear.

Thank you, I appreciate the words. I feel like the last stanza is a little choppy... any thoughts?
