Tornado Strikes Westboro Baptist Church

By Elton Camp

The weather report look especially dire

The good reverend kept preaching fire

The congregation took in every word

“God destroyed Joplin,” they heard

“So, 125 people deserved what they got

Now they’re screaming in a place so hot.

“To put a stop to f**s they didn’t try,

So God decided that they should die.”

The tornado alarm began to sound

But the reverend didn’t look around

“There is no harm that we need expect

For we are God’s people"the elect.”

“Remember what it is I always say

God only kills those who love gay.

A loud roar & the church did shake

The rev cried, “Oh my, goodness sake!”

The ceiling cracked, the walls fell in

“Fear not, flock, for you have no sin.

The reverend looked about in dismay

His whole flock lay dead on that day

“The work of Satan this has to be.

Now they walk in heaven so free.

From the street he heard folks yell

“God hates you and sent you to hell.”

The reverend made his way outside

The jeering crowd he began to deride

“How can you speak so cruel and unfair!

About human decency you have no care.”

“Innocent children died here today

And now this is what you dare say!

How, to be Christians, can you claim

The way you are acting is a shame.”

What a great poem.Something sure needed to happen in Wesboro. I don't know if this is real or not; I'll have to look it up. God never means innocent people to die.
