The Pig’s New Toy

By Elton Camp

The tiny, rural town so conveniently lay

Right alongside the well-traveled highway

Bubba’s cop salary depends on fines

If not enough, then his pay declines

So he managed to get him a radar gun

He stands behind a post and has fun

Out-of-state cars are what he wants

As he writes tickets, he also taunts

“You think we here is just a hick town,

You’ll be more careful next time around.”

“If the speed limit is posted as sixty,

Don’t you ever be driving at sixty-two.”

The only way Bubba could have more fun

Is if he could find somebody he could stun

I’m sure that come cop this will make mad

“So what, pig, ain’t that just way too bad.”
