A Foggy Morning

A Foggy Morning

A Poem by Elton Camp
"

On waking up to a heavy fog.

"

A Foggy Morning

By Elton Camp

The dense fog presses all around

From the tree tops to the ground

For most fogs, I don’t really care

Patches like smoke here and there

This one envelopes familiar things

And a feeling of mystery brings

The colors of objects I cannot say

They are shades of black and gray

There is a strange stillness in the air

It’s as if nobody else is out there

I go outside so that the mist I feel

To a world that seems almost unreal

All too soon, the fog will clear away

And bring the brightness of a new day
