Let me sue somebody--anybody--for you!

Going for the Deep Pockets

By Elton Camp

Too many lawyers seeking somebody to sue

From doctors & hospitals feel a living is due

So doctors and nurses are forced into CYA

For needless tests the patients then must pay

A doctor would surely be a most careless sort

Who didn’t ask, “How will this look in court?”

The lawyer who an ambulance used to chase

Is the same one who loves the doctors to face

Malpractice insurance has pockets so deep

But it makes the doctor’s fees terribly steep

So all he can do is charge patients more

So such lawyers we all should simply abhor

In rare cases, a doctor is guilty as can be

A malpractice suit there I can actually see

But medical practice is surely an inexact art

And most such actions should never start

For what some lawyers do absolutely isn’t right

Such a one is nothing but an economic parasite
