The Contentious Wife

By Elton Camp

Whatever hubby does, she will unload

Because she’s always ready to explode

It starts when she arises early in the day

And all day long, it continues that way

Although peace her poor hubby does want

It’s “Condemned if you do, or if you don’t.”

To offer any suggestion he sure does fear

But, “You don’t care what goes on here.”

When in an effort his wife’s favor to seek

About most anything hubby dares to speak

That is a mistake as he quickly comes to see

“Shut up now and just leave things up to me.”

The poor guy will just roll his eyes and sigh

“It seems that there’s no use for me to try.”

On the horizon he see storm clouds forming

Once again, he prepares to endure storming

If my wife should come to see this lament,

“Honey, I swear for you it wasn’t meant.”
