How to Lose Your Money and Your Friend

By Elton Camp

If you have your money and your friend

You’ll lose them both if you dare to lend

“I hate to ask, but you know you can trust me.”

Your money you will nevermore come to see

Relatives are going to act exactly the same way

They will feel free to borrow, but never repay

I loaned money a first, second and third time

And afterwards never again saw a single dime

The only benefit was I never saw them anymore

From there on out, they were careful to ignore

So maybe it was actually money well spent

I lost a small amount and away the pest went

But I learned by experience the right way to go

Whenever somebody asks, simply tell him, “No”
