Old Ain't DeadA Poem by Elton CampFlossie still had a lot going for her.Old Ain’t Dead By Elton Camp Flossie was sitting on the porch with sister Belle Both were up in years, but actually doing well Belle spent her day sitting around with a fan Flossie said, “Phooey on this. I’ll get me a man.” So Flossie fixed up and put her cane out of sight Jumped in her Edsel and went out for the night To enter the neighborhood bar she didn’t have a fear She called, “Hey fellows, swingin’ Flossie is here.” “I may not be young, but I know how to have fun So whoever wants to buy me drink better run.”
All of the young bimbos’ faces turned bright red Their men gathered around at what Flossie said She said, “Who dates me must have a lot on the ball. I may be old and wrinkled, but I’m not dead at all.” © 2011 Elton Camp |
