Made in Japan

By Elton Camp

It was made in Japan and it’s on the way

And it’s coming ever closer day-by-day

It is not some fine car or a really great TV

But it’s a bunch of broken junk we’ll see

All kinds of debris the tsunami swept away

Will reach the U.S. west coast some day

Refrigerators, furniture, wood, even boats

Here is coming most anything that floats

Up to twenty million tons is the weight

Spotted 2,000 miles from Japan of late

But that’s minor and nobody will mind

Japan had 20,000 dead or couldn’t find

Hawaii much sooner the debris will reach

Some may wash up on its beautiful beach
