What should Zandra do?

The New Outfit

By Elton Camp

At school, Sue saw Zandra in the hall

And loudly to her best friend did call

“Hey, come look at my latest outfit.

I love it and know you’ll have a fit.”

“When handsome Joe see me in this

To get a date with him I just can’t miss.”

“I shopped all day at the Regency Mall

And this the one that I liked best of all.”

“I know that you are my friend so true.

Please tell me how much you like it too.”

The situation put poor Zandra to the test

Because with her feelings she did wrest

The outfit, she knew, was a horrid fright

But would it be best to pretend delight?

If insincere praise is what she does say

Then her friend she will badly betray

But if truth is what she decides to speak

A new best friend she will have to seek

So, what do you think Zandra should do?

Really, what would you do if it were you?
