I Don’t Have a Drinking Problem

By Elton Camp

Curtis stayed too late at Kelly’s Bar again

And was still woozy when work did begin

He stalked into the office with head held high

That he had a problem he intended to deny

But in the middle of the room he took a stumble

And it was flat in the floor that Curtis did tumble

The boss came over with an indignant stare

As he looked at Curtis as he was lying there

“Man, I have warned you about this before

Now get out and don’t come here anymore.”

Curtis got to his feet, looked him in the eye

And said, “What you suggest is just a lie.”

“There’s not a single thing wrong with me

As even a four-eyes like you should see.”

As building security rushed him out the door

He continued to rant and deny just as before

Will Curtis get the help that he does need

Or is it to the gutter his addiction will lead?
