Madam President’s News Briefing

By Elton Camp

The outcome of the election wasn’t expected

It was over and it was she who’d been elected

As soon as Madam Prez’s term in office did begin

It was a team of competent advisors she brought in

One was about foreign relations and related stuff

In case seeing Russia from her yard wasn’t enough

Another was an expert American history advisor

About the past events of the nation she’d be wiser

Another’s duty was to tell her how jobs to create

Since she’d learned quitting one wasn’t that great

Then on current events she was brought up to date

By an aide who told her what had happened of late

Finally he got to the last news item of that day

The following is the report he had to convey

“Today, two Brazilian soldiers were savagely killed

It was a terrorist group that their blood has spilled.”

A look of horror came onto the President’s face

“Why that is shocking, atrocious and a disgrace.”

The aide looked with surprise at so much dismay

She asked, “How many is a gazillion, by the way?”
