You Won’t Believe Who I Saw at Target

By Elton Camp

I was surprised at who I thought that I did spy

But caught her only out of the corner of my eye

Even with a baseball cap and such dark glasses

I thought, “For the First Lady that easily passes.”

But of interest and surprise I didn’t show a trace

After all, she is entitled to her own private space

Nevertheless, a round-about shopping route I took

So perhaps I could inconspicuously get a better look

That time there wasn’t even the slightest doubt

From the White House, Mrs. Obama had slipped out

Standing around were several men in casual clothes

They were Secret Service.  Anybody can spot those

That she’d shop in a discount store I had to admire

She could’ve bought anywhere her heart did desire

But if Wal Mart ever should happen to find it out

They will wish they had gained her favor, no doubt
