The TV Cable Bill Goes Up Again

By Elton Camp

When towns allow creation of a monopoly,

Its prices will always rise, just wait and see

Television cable companies are a good example

They have a cost that, for service, is fully ample

But they continually are looking for some ruse

An ever-escalating monthly charge to excuse

We can’t pay only for the channels that we pick

Selling them in bundles is their dirty little trick

So, in order to get the channels that I like best,

I have to pay for a whole bunch that I detest

And almost every time that we have some wind

For many days the cable service will be off again

The next time the price rises I may fill my wish

And have installed my own home satellite dish

If enough business the cable company does lose

To listen to reason they may well cease to refuse
