A Day of Apprehension

A Day of Apprehension

A Poem by Elton Camp

What will happen today?

A Day of Apprehension

By Elton Camp

It has now been ten years since the terrorist attack

The news channels to that time are taking us back

Through the years, no matter how the authorities try

They haven’t stopped violence by people willing to die

There are those who think with virgins to have a date

If only they carry out their orders and don’t do it late

Today, will death and destruction once again prevail

As some high profile target they proceed to assail?

Each time I tune to CNN, it is with considerable fear

That of yet another terrorist attack I’m going to hear
