Satellite Falling from Orbit

By Elton Camp

The Upper Atmospheric Research Satellite is on its way

Where and when it will crash, NASA can’t exactly say

Later September or early October the experts now estimate

But it is possible that it could fall from orbit early or late

Satellite will break into pieces once it enter the atmosphere

The largest chuck will weight about 300 pounds they fear

The satellite had enough fuel that NASA could direct its fall

But it is sad to say that six years ago they already used it all

They can only make a guess at the path the debris will take

One that, authorities say, is subject to a 6,000 mile mistake

Considering all this dire information that you have read

What is the chance that it will strike you on your head?

The probability of that happening is so extremely small

However, that doesn’t mean that there is no chance at all

Here is a fact that should help to allay anyone’s fears

Nobody's been killed by falling space debris in 54 years
