Boxing Should Be Banned

By Elton Camp

Boxing fans injuries in other sports will always mention

But forget that only in boxing is injury the real intention

Boxing might even result in the boxer’s immediate death

But far more experience long-term damage to their health

For those who a career in boxing somehow have maintained

Chronic brain damage from repeated injury may have sustained

Damage to the brain it is only reasonable that we should expect

In any “sport” that encourages hitting people above their neck

Other internal organs bone, fat, skin and muscles all protect

For the head to be often hit is something we shouldn’t expect

It’s true skin, skull and brain coverings will help protect it a bit

But the brain strikes the walls of the skull when it is sharply hit

The “knock-out” that boxing fanatics so highly wish and prize

Follows grogginess, weakness, and the inability to focus eyes

Boxing also may do great damage to eyes, ears and to the nose

Should civilized folk allow a “sport” causing injuries like those
