Never Underestimate the Stupidity of a Criminal

By Elton Camp

By the man’s dress and demeanor the teller knew

That to press the silent alarm is what she should do

“Give me fifty thousand,” was what the man did blurt

“And if you do, then nobody will have to get hurt.”

“Sir, I don’t have anywhere near that large amount,

Give me your number and I’ll credit to your account.”

The bank robber was more stupid than she thought

And from his wallet, his account number he brought

“I suppose doing it this should probably be okay.

I will go to another branch and withdraw it today.”

The teller couldn’t believe the trick would work

She was only stalling so the cops could get the jerk

She never expected that even a robber was that dumb

And she had to wonder what cave he crawled out from

The criminal walked to the exit really strutting his stuff

Since he felt that he had shown himself smart and tough

The police arrived just as he was approaching the door

They grabbed the robber and forced him to the floor

The crook said, “How dare you pigs treat me in this way?

I have a big account.  What will the bank president say?”
