A most unjust tax.

Property Taxes Are An Outrage

By Elton Camp

At such time, if any, I should become king,

Property tax to an immediate end I’ll bring

Although most taxes I don’t mind to pay

To get revenue, there has to be a better way

To tax our property can it possibly be fair

With so many tax deadbeats being out there

Because I worked hard for a house and lot,

Should I continue to pay for what I’ve got

But if I had lazily sat around on my behind

Then a place in public housing I would find

It would seem right in bleeding hearts eyes

To take tax from others my rent to subsidize

But because I did things the old-fashioned way,

Now they expect for what I earned, tax to pay

Alabama has the lowest property tax now, I know

But if I had the control, it would become zero
