Made in China

By Elton Camp

No matter how I shop and hard I try,

“Made in China” is on nearly all I buy

I’d be willing to pay a good bit more

For goods made here as it was before

No disrespect for the Chinese do I mean

That local jobs vanish I’ve clearly seen

And money that is sent to a distant shore

Likely will not be seen around here more

Chinese work under conditions I deplore

That I support it by my purchases, I abhor

Yet, no matter how much this I do mind,

I have to buy whatever it is that I can find
