Is Tithing a Christian Requirement?

To tithe, the Jews had a good reason why

It was a compensation to the tribe of Levi

An equal share of the land they didn’t get

As ministers in worship the Levites did fit

 

Levi’s tribe got only cities in which to live

So to them, others the tenth were to give

A law meant only for conditions like those

So-called Christians have tried to impose

 

Church members are often put on the spot

Told to tithe or else in hell they will rot

Per the law of Moses tis said this is true:

Tithing is something Christians must do

 

For reasonable income churches have need

But demanding a tithe can simply be greed

But it seems to me that the biggest sin of all

Is to assert that God, for tithing does call
