The Sins of the Father

By Elton Camp

The Law of Moses explains the reason why

For the father’s sin, his son should not die

As far as what I know, it surely does not seem

Mark Madoff knew his father’s Ponzi scheme

Those once rich people who their millions lost

Are trying to recover their money at any cost

They participated in a dubious, high-risk game

And now they look to others to take the blame

Returns old Bernie promised couldn’t be right

Their lack of judgment got them into the tight

They surely knew, truly honest it couldn’t be

And that it would finally fail should foresee

Perhaps Mark got tired of endless accusations

And to his own character, all the recriminations

With years ahead full of seemingly endless strife

Perhaps that is why the innocent son took his life
