Going Shopping on Black Friday?

By Elton Camp

Make a frenzied trip to the store?

We don’t do like that anymore

Store will open before daylight?

In that I take not the least delight

Get in all that traffic at the mall

But, to us, it is not worth it at all

People will go to shop in droves

Hoping they’ll find treasure troves

The biggest shopping day of the year

But that’s not always accurate, I hear

Some line up for many hours ahead

About great bargains they have read

Once inside, shoppers rush and snatch

Trying to get the very best of the catch

This they think that they really must do

Of the bargains, store have only a few

Have been cases where blood’s spilled

And a Wal Mart worker, shoppers killed

They smashed in the glass front door

And trampled the man in the mad roar

A shooting and killing at a Toys R Us

When angry customers got into a fuss

Save a few dollars, it’s not worth to me

So I will stay at home and just let it be
