Living at Heritage Estates

By Elton Camp

Name, “Heritage Estates,” is a good pick

For a residential area it could do the trick

Dwellers in that place, who could blame

For taking pride in such an excellent name

A heritage is usually looked on with pride

Estate is a swanky house in which to reside

And its street is a single mile-long cul de sac

If you enter, then turn around and come back

The dwellings are on lots that are quite small

Worker’s truck can’t pass between them at all

But for big yards, people are no longer keen

That sort of home density is very often seen

At Heritage Estates, crime rate is very low

It’s a place where very few burglars will go

And pesky salesmen rarely go there to call

They know they’d get almost no sales at all

The architecture has a great consistency

Slight differences in style is all you see

Folks seem at a similar level of income

To foolish extravagance none succumb

On both sides of the wide street are spied

Trailers, mostly single, a few double-wide

Drying clothes are hung on a line out back

Garbage cans out front, none of them lack

Many windows are both cracked and dirty

Girls sitting on the porches are quite flirty

“Heritage Estates” for a trailer park is a joke

For, such a false image that name does evoke
