The Devil Made Me Do It

By Elton Camp

For all our faults it’s a good excuse

The devil is the one who did seduce

For not a thing are we the ones to blame

“Satan made me do it,” we will exclaim

So, when we carried out that sneaky trick

It has to be due to the work of Old Nick

And when we failed in our own duty to do

It was Satan who prevented us, it’s true

Also when we had way too much to drink

It was only the devil who did it, I think

He it was bought the bottle at the store

And forced us to drink more and more

And so he could put us under hard trial

Satan bought us tickets to a movie so vile

And it most certainly was the diabolic one

Who made us go for the wrong type fun

He was the one who did whisper

Go to that sexual website, mister

Such trash we didn’t want to see

One who typed the address was he

That Satan exists I sure won’t deny

But a universal excuse he can’t supply

Most of the bad choices that we make

Are so surely due to our own mistake
