Trick or Treat

By Elton Camp

Every source that I have seen

Ties paganism to Halloween

To many of evil Satan’s hosts

Witches, goblins and ghosts

Does that connection yet remain

Or has it purity come to attain?

Costumed children may look cute

But one thing we cannot dispute

Trick or treating causes some anger

And can put children into danger

A child to a stranger in the dark

A sneaky dog may not even bark

He could be a drunk on a bender

Or so much worse, a sex offender

Then eat what the stranger provides

Who knows if there’s poison inside?

Even if I thought Halloween was okay,

I don’t want my child doing that way

So no evil fate may come to befall,

Please keep them home, one and all.
