Grinning Like a Mule Eating Briers

By Elton Camp

When a mule briers does eat

It’s a sight that’s hard to beat

His lips pull back as if to bray

So that all his teeth do display

It may look like he has a grin,

That doesn’t mean he’s friend

And should you make him mad

The kick you’ll get will be bad

Don’t expect him to do any work

From such he always will shirk

The only time he will not lag

Is to put on the old feeding bag

A man who teaches Sunday school

I admit reminds me of that mule

He thinks he’s righteous as can be

Carries a white Bible for all to see

Disability he sure seems to fake

Monthly check he is glad to take

And any time you see him pass

There’s a big grin like that a*s
