For those who love to promote jokes,

It’s time again for the old Mars hoax.

E mails say:  “Prepare for a shocking sight

Mars will look big as the moon tonight.”

 

Read it and before you’re through

You wonder if it just might be true.

To forward this is a silly mistake

So don’t do it for goodness sake.

 

Mars is very much too far away

To look that big now or any day.

There is compelling need

To evaluate what we read.

 

So to avoid looking like dopes

We should learn to know jokes.

And if all we hear we do believe,

Others will laugh up their sleeve.
