Enthrall

Enthrall

A Story by Eloquence

I think I am mesmerised by you
Falling in love with you

Just a little too much
The way you sound at 4am
And when the cars pass your window

The lights ignite the room
Structuring your face with a glow

The shade of moonlight
Shining bright
Then reverting back to blackness

It's so addictive
When your eyes grow wide

And bright from reflections of sunshine peeping through laced blinds
Loosely hanging from a wooden pole
I think I've grown attached

With deep fear that you will leave
But I can't help it

Because I see all that you are
When you don't really see yourself
But then I wonder how one's heart can grow so cold

And I think
That maybe it's because it's been left out in the darkness

The cold
For too long
But some days I struggle

When there's nothing left to say
Because I still don't know how to convince you

That out of everyone
Including all the ones that leave
That I will always stand there

With an umbrella
Just big enough

Waiting
To protect you from the rain that falls down on us
To cover you

And to cover your heart.
