The Price of ImaginationA Poem by Marley E. CooperOut of control. The thoughts in my mind wreak havoc Spilling terror through my bones They loop around the labyrinth of my body Leaving it ruined and alone
I once owned a mind filled with comfort Dreams with beauty and grace But now darkness corrupts them with vigour Leaving nightmares in their place
My home looks extremely different now With iron gates that I must obey The white walls and white coats on the people Always there with each passing day
I can see others chained in here with me Forever locked in their grey rooms Gnawing visions devour and force them apart Suffering all the way to their tombs
Like dark magic my thoughts set a spell And I cannot restore my parts With raw spite the thoughts finally surround
me To freeze my scared tender heart
