The Texts and the Teachings

The Texts and the Teachings

A Poem by Eloha

You attain to knowledge

By argument, research, metanalysis

Bravo, you must be commended!

You attain to love

By devotion, relationship, loyalty

Hurray, you are in your place!

But in spiritual poverty you remain

Impoverished, pretentious, egoistic

There is no hand of the tongue

To reach purification, gnosis, bliss

There are no formulas, prayers, dogma

To reach the heart of silence

Only surrender, compassion, a craving

For the light of the sunlit path

May you arrive at integration in non-duality

Unity, the feeling that overwhelms all

With the helpless identity of the supreme

You attain Godhead by being devoid

Of self-important knowledge and

Dualistic attachment to personal love

Can you well fathom how that tastes?
