Lost in the Woods

A man gets lost in the woods.

The sky was grey and a thick fog enveloped Jack's vision. Over head the storm was just beginning to break, thunder roared and lightning flashed. Jack turned around and saw a large black figure. 

    He took off running, dodging trees as he went. Why did I choose to go into the woods tonight? Jack thought to himself. He dodged left to avoid a tree and smacked face first into something hard. 

     There was blood coming out of his nose and it was defiantly broken. Jack looked up into a pair of glowing, white eyes that appeared to be floating. Jacks blood turned to ice, he froze in place, his body refused to move. His gaze was locked onto those eyes. 

     Then he realized that they weren't glowing, but the body they belonged to was ink black. The demon moved closer and got inches from Jack's face. It whispered two words that confused him, "Wake up."

     Then it's razor sharp claws tore open Jack's stomach. Blood poured out covering the ground. Jack could move again as he jerked and spasmed on the ground, smearing his blood.

     The rain became a torrent pouring down, but becoming a mist as it falls through the tree leaves. The monster continued to shred jack open, all the while. Then lightning struck the beast, and Jack was blinded by a bright flash as the beast exploded. 

     Jack's eyes shot open, but instead of a dense forest, he saw the inside of an ambulance, speeding him towards the hospital. He looked down and saw through his open chest, all of his guts ripped to shreds.

     Then it all came back to him. He was hunting in the woods when it started to rain. He had caught some deer that day and when he was going back to his truck, some wolves attacked, attracted by the smell of deer.

    They knocked him to the ground and began to eat him. He then passed out and had the strange dream.

    Jack had to have massive surgery in order to save his life, but they accomplished it. He left the hospital a couple months later, swearing never to enter those woods again, and wondering how he was going to pay his massive hospital bill!
