TRUST

TRUST

A Poem by Elmarie
"

Healing Trust

"

Trust

This is the story of many a friend.

The ones we would love to defend

against all the hurt and pain.

To make them feel alive again.

It is with great tenderness

that I bring you this.

So here I will unveil;

The truth of her tale.....

What a little B***h!

You tore out her stitch.

She was just getting better,

and now you made it fester.

Who do you think you are?

Opening up her healing scar.

Go away and disappear.

You are not welcome here!

But as fate had it she stuck.

Like a feather on a duck.

She swept him of his feet,

and he ended up a cheat.

What a  little B*****d!

He thought he had her mastered.

Yet she's the one leaving now.

So she made this vow ............

No longer shall I trust,

for it all comes down to lust.

Never  in love, will I believe.

Again, I shall not be deceived.

A wondrous blessing!

I discovered the ultimate dressing.

As I am no longer bound,

because it is me I have found.

The love in my life.

The one who is wife.

To myself as I groan,

Under the sheets I moan.

Well then it came to be

that she met a man, you see

one that is her lover.

He declares it is forever.

I have watched him closely.

His behavior is gentle and homely.

From my careful view

it seems his devotion is true.

Dare she say her doubt;

Here, now, out aloud:

That love is but a whim.

Filling us to the brim.

It can take anything,

to cause a little fling.

The eyes or the hips,

a kiss from another's lips.

Once trust is broken,

all is but a token.

Living only for now.

Never taking loves vow....

My wish for her is this:

That life will be full of bliss,

and that she will find

trust again in man kind.

 .

It's emotional and you have presented it very strongly and just the way it deserves to be presented... Love is like a butterfly, we can hold it too tightly or too gently, when one of this happens, and the balance destroyes, along with the breaking of trust, that's when love really hurts... You have brilliantly showed the truth about trust in love and life... The ending was so heartwarming and I pray that your frnd finds healing in her life El... God bless her... Many congratulations to your daughter, such a lovely work...

What an incredible poem... tale... near epic piece about love, emotion, disappointment, and.. ultimately finding self. Love's a strange old thing, it fills the heart, it breaks the heart, it frets and forms till breath begins to slow.. and yet, life over and over is full of it. You've created such an understanding for not only how it is but somehow seen and felt a friend's state of marriage, being and feeling with cool, collected logic. . The display of empathy yet realism is put so finely - part rawly, part wholeheartedly. This makes me feel more than i thought possible, in mirror writing, strangely legible.

Beautifully penned and indeed, I've heard it said one may kiss many frogs before finding her prince charming ?

It is sad when love become too heavy to carry.
"Once trust is broken,

The above lines is true for many. I liked the hope in the ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Always my pleasure and you are welcome.
It is so hard to heal trust when it betrays the heart. I am sure it is different for everyone and yet a such a potent grief for most. Wisely told and tangible :)

Hi there thanks for your review. I will have a look at your work and welcome. :) El
the third verse is quite the contrast and did take me by surprise ..i think the real turn came here however:
"A wondrous blessing!
I discovered the ultimate dressing.
As I am no longer bound,
because it is me I have found."

issues of trust abound ..and you are right about the slightest of things can turn the eye away from a betrothed .. cynicism perhaps is the worst of outcomes ... walling us up and sometimes never enjoying the depth that honest commitment can bring .. your poem makes me think and consider my very good fortune ... and betraying it would be greater harm to me than anyone else .. ;)

First of all, that was a beautiful photo. Congrats to your daughter.

As for this poem, I loved the story it told. It was very unique with a lot of sincerity. I especially liked the mood changes in this poem. For example, in the first two stanzas, it starts off kinda gentle, in a way that one would expect a "bed-time story" to start. Then came "What a little B***h!" and the vibe completely changed. Throughout the rest of the poem, I could feel a sense of hope, anger, hurt, suspicion...I could go
on and on.

If I may critique, I noticed that the font size changes in this piece. Some stanzas have a larger font size than others, so I would suggest fixing that (unless you did that on purpose to symbolize something). That's all I have to say. Great work.
