Is it weird to have so many crushes,
Yet feel my heart retreat in its hushes?
Is it weird to long for a fluttering start,
But shield myself from a breaking heart?

Is it weird to dream of love so sweet,
Yet tremble in fear when our eyes meet?
Is it weird to leap from my bed,
Chasing the thoughts that race in my head?

Is it weird to text but never call,
Afraid of the risk, the chance I could fall?
To linger in shadows, safe from the light,
Yet close enough to feel warmth at night?

Is it weird to miss you when you’re not near,
Yet know you’re someone I could replace anywhere?
Is it weird to hold on but still run away,
To crave your presence yet not want to stay?

Is it weird to cry when you’ve no true worth,
Yet your name reverberates louder than the earth?
Is it weird to dream of you so near,
Only to run when you appear?

Is it weird to fight the pull so strong,
Yet find myself giving in all along?
Is it weird to love you but not love you too,
Caught in a battle I can’t undo?

Is it weird to write and spill my soul,
But fear the truth will take its toll?
To want to share, yet tear it apart,
This poem that's pieces of my fragile heart?

Um your line "Is it weird to text but never call," has hit me like a bullzeye, I am in a situation exactly like this, we text, I want her to call me, she never does, it is messing with my head, but reading this has encouraged me, maybe there are those that only like to text, thank you for sharing your heart in this poem.

Well this one helped to know that the woman I love is not the only one who doesn't like to talk on the phone, she only like to text.
