Embrace.

Embrace.

A Poem by Ellusen

Don't dream of escape, for there is none:

the harshest burden of man

remains sitting on his shoulders

and sewn into his chest

digging through language

to try and make sense

of all that there is

and all that there could be.

There is no escape,

just embrace

 the always asking

and never knowing.

these words are somewhat harsh, but speak such a truth, this, for myself, portrayed the relentless confusion of life that is entirely inescapable - a message one doesn't often think about but should be reminded of so often during their strive to understand what cannot be known

I don't think I've read a more cynical write yet on WC - not a criticism - an observation Ellusen, for I have felt this way myself at times.
I can relate is what I guess I'm trying to say.
It does seem like a kind of sadism to give us knowledge - to a point - but to keep us in the dark too.
Concise and sharp.
I like this.

I really enjoyed reading this. I feel like this is part of what has always drawn me to science, and I'm sure many others as well. Perhaps the best escape lies within discovering the unknown, and always having something to work to understand. Embrace the always asking and never knowing, I love it!
