I do enjoy swimming and bobbing around in the sea and these waves can come out of nowhere and cause us to switch to primordial brain and panic a little - swallowing the salty foam before we can right ourselves.

i like the description-it would be more powerful without the explanation of what it is in the poem.

the imagery reaches deeper underneath these words - the ocean is such a beautiful entity, and only upon contact does it unleash its immense power, an apposite metaphor for love; at first a mere teasing tug before one finds themself out of control, entirely overrun by this foreign being that has engulfed every aspect of their life, inescapable
