Dreaming the impossible

Dreaming the impossible

A Poem by oh,hey.

I dreamed the impossible,

 I dreamed you were cured,

I dreamed you were fine again,

To feel safe and reassured.

But I could never be so lucky,

No, not ever me,

I could never be so lucky,

I will never be that free.

I wanted to believe it,

I wanted it to be true,

I wanted to stay asleep,

To stop the worrying I do.

But I could never be so lucky,

No,not ever me,

I could never be so lucky,

I will never be that free.

So I hid behind my laugh,

I hid behind a smile,

I hid secretly knowing,

I would fake my smile for a while.

I am not so sure if I really understood this poem. If you meant cure of real illness or simply bad manners of the person… Either way I found this emotional piece very well written . I hope to read more of your poems. Great job…

That's exactly how I felt when my mother-in-law passed away this past August. Took me quite awhile to get over it enough to where I felt like writing again. Thanks for sharing such an emotional piece...

Very emotional poem. It brings a tear to my eye. Such a feeling of hopelessness.

luck or fate... keeping up smiles & cheer is necessary..but not at all easy to do...a heavy subject but a very good poem...

thank you!
Such sadness that flows through this poem. It's very well constructed and pleasant to read.

So I hid behind my laugh,

I hid behind a smile,

I hid secretly knowing,

I would fake my smile for a while.

These lines captivate the true meaning of how we give importance for others happiness, even we hurt as we face the truth, but still we are brave to alter our mode by faking our smile. Great Write!

Well written. You can feel the desperation behind the words...
