Chapter Three- ExploringA Chapter by EllieAlice led me out towards the town in silence, I couldn’t help but feel a little awkward in the silence, but I didn’t know what to talk about. I watched her as she walked, she seemed to be trying to stay strong and in control, though deep down I could tell she was scared and upset. I wanted to hurt whoever it was that was hurting her… but I knew I couldn’t. Suddenly I heard a noise being me, turning, there was no one there. I frowned as I turned back around and walked a little faster to catch up to Alice, I knew it must have been something to do with the extra sensitive hearing I had, since Alice seemed completely unfazed, either that or she didn’t care even if she did hear something. “You ok?” she asked softly as she looked over at me and I nodded a little and smiled. “Yes thank you… just thought I hear something” I replied and she looked a little puzzled. “Oh… I didn’t hear anything…” she replied and I nodded with a chuckle. “Guess it was my imagination” I replied and she smiled softly, I knew I hadn’t imagined it though, it must have been my dragon hearing kicking in, which bugged me a little, I didn’t want to be able to hear things that no one normal couldn’t hear, it would make things a lot more difficult… though I guess that’s a consequence from becoming a human. Alice looked over at me curiously and I smiled a little. “You ok?” she asked gently and I nodded again. “Yeah… sorry I was just thinking” I replied and she tilted her head to the side. “Want to talk?” she asked and I shrugged a little. “Hmm… oh I was just thinking about how nice it is here… and how different it is from where I come from” “Where did you come from?” she asked, damn… I should have known that question would have come up, and I didn’t know where to say. “I used to live in a little island no one’s ever heard of” I replied as I ran a hand through my hair, I knew if she dug deeper into where it was, I would be in trouble, but I hoped she would just drop it. And to my luck, that’s exactly what she did. Alice simply let me have that terrible excuse of where I had been, though it seemed like she did suspect something, she just wasn’t letting on. I thought a moment before I speed up a little so I was walking in time with her, standing out 5’11, she seemed a lot shorter than me, maybe about 5’2? I smiled and gently slipping her hand in mine as we walked, I smiled happily when she didn’t pull her hand away, though she did seem to flinch a little before relaxing, I could only assume it was because of her father, maybe she was a little shy around guys? “You know… you’re really pretty” I told her gently, and she blushed a little more to herself. “I’m really not” she said, her voice a quiet whisper but I smiled and shook my head. “You are” I told her, more sternly than before. *End Flash back* © 2014 Ellie |
