Chapter 1- Arrival *Flash back three years*

A Chapter by Ellie

I sighed as I looked around at the small village I had found myself in; it was the kind of place you would imagine in a Hollywood film set in a small suburb, all the houses had white picket fences and pretty cottages. I looked around and smiled at the silence, all that could be heard were the birds chirruping and the wind lightly blowing the trees, though, that might be because it was pretty late out, so most people were in bed. It felt so good to be away from all the dragons, being coped up together caused a lot of butting heads and fighting.

A smile crept onto my lips as I looked around, however, my peace didn’t last long as I suddenly heard screaming and shouting in one of the houses, the living room lights were on and I could see the shadows of a large man and a much smaller female fighting. I sighed and bit my lip as it looked like the male was hurting the female, from what I could see, as I crept closer, he had her wrist and was shaking her and throwing her around, I desperately wanted to run in and help her, but I knew I couldn’t. I backed away as it seemed like the fighting was coming to a stop and ran a hand through my hair as I sighed a little. My eyes shot to the door as it was slammed open and the female I had seen the shadow of ran out.
“I hate you just leave me the hell alone” she screamed at the male that couldn’t be seen any more.
“Stay out you little b***h” the man shot back.
“Like you’ll be saying that later” she snapped as she speed walked away. The man didn’t reply as he slammed the front door shut and the female took off to a run.

Thinking for a moment I decided to follow her, just in case anything happened, though I followed at a walk and kept behind her as I saw she went into a park, sitting below a tree, pulling her knees to her chest as tears slipped down her cheeks.
“Um… excuse me… miss?” I asked, a little tentatively as I was unsure of how she would react.
“What do you want?” she snapped as she looked up, she looked so sad… so broken and I frowned.
“Are you ok?” I asked softly as I walked a little closer and frowned more.
“Do I look ok?” she asked, her voice still anger, but I could tell she was putting it on because she didn’t want to let herself get hurt even more.
“…No” I sighed as I walked slightly closer, seeing if she would react badly, when she didn’t I finally took the last step before sitting down beside her.
