Glass Melody

I want to see something be ripped apart

And feel it break in harmony with my heart

I want to behold the world fall and smash

Singing the melody of shattering glass

I want to hear blood drip with the tears

Mingling in the darkness of my fears

The bitterness turns into thoughts that maul

From the shadows, my voices call

One voice commands pain fraught with bitter thunder

The other voice sighs for love in weak wonder

Words slam into the walls of my heart

And my only defense falls apart

Into the darkness I stumble defeated

The weak protest of my heart unheeded

The sounds go still, the voices fade

And numbness sets in through the wreckage I made.
