Answer to a Question

Answer to a Question

A Poem by Lady Ellen

In an answer to the question,

of what the beast is wanting,

Wanting to fill an endless need.

On a full moon night,

under a crisp winter sky,

when I hear pulses race like rushing rivers,

and hearts beating in time with the rhythm of the twinkling stars.

I long to satisfy my need,

this thirst that grows and I can stand no more.

I hear the warm breath of a sleeping victim calling to me.

I long to take a drink of their essence,

and wrap it around my heart.

To taste the sweetness of their soul,

along the precious tender vein of the throat.

To feel the pulse across my lips,

and feel the energy flow.

Strengthened by their weakness,

I feel whole once again.

A tear from my eye falls,

knowing I left them tired and in a weakened state.

But the thirst must win,

hunger satisfied,

and for the next victim I sadly,

yet happily wait.
