the limit, as life approaches perfection

the limit, as life approaches perfection

A Poem by Ellen Mary
"

Like climbing mountains

"

I have never felt
Such a light inside of me
Or seen it
I’ve believed it

In a state
In many states
Of melting
And freezing
Reforming into new and beautiful things
Dangerous and sharp
Some kinds too hot, and some below freezing
Each one death and unyielding
Then soft and smooth
To warm and soothe
Heaven to the touch

Getting brighter and brighter
The sum, being greater than each individual part
Some dim, some blinding
Some unsure and flickering
Some burning the eyes
Unable to stand its glare
Its net, an overall and fascinating amplification

I turn my neck
Back to the left
And back to the right
Trying to see what is behind me
But refusing to turn my whole body
My eyes are uncomfortable
When not looking straight ahead
But there are still glimpses
Here and there
And here I am refusing to stare.

My pace is quite quick
And a friend says, ‘you are like the mother goose’
I cant help but utter a giggle
And a crinkle of my nose
I like walking fast, to get my heart beating
For the right reasons
Those physiological reasons
But then again they all are
Damn amygdala
The exciting reasons
Of trying to reach life right at your finger tips

Falling from the clouds
blankets of air caressing every twist and turn of the body
and then
Swimming in the ocean
Deep below
And breathing in the water
The sweet water

Lying on the beach
The salt becoming crust
Collecting in that groove of my collar bone
Breathing in the sunshine
And feeling warm
All over, everywhere

Jumping up and down
And half conscious but fully conscious
Without inhibition
Is that being conscious?
Conscious of nothing, but being everything that you are and want to be
Without restrictions and without responsibility or judgement
Its hysterical
Singing at the top of my lungs
About everything and possibly nothing
Impossible probably
Somebody said, ‘who was singing? That was beautiful.’
It will be though, more so than now

This fire, burning through uncertainty and fear
Creating clarity
Sometimes I just can’t stop laughing
Or smiling
Walking with your back straight, shoulders back,
And your head held high
Blowing kisses to passing strangers

I have a secret
And I want you and everyone else to know it.
Just come dancing for one night
Singing in the dark
Being half conscious
But absolutely, positively and completely aware

I love this from beginning to end. From the ever changing entity that we are, to the bold singer who sings into the night. THis is truly a self portrait of introspective beauty. When I finished reading this (all three times) I felt a rush of inspiration and satisfaction. I love the confident soul that you are, saying "Just come dancing for one night". A taste of losing yourself in the moment, for the moment...

Amazing!
