To be able to write your way out of a black hole is a feat in itself, and you have not only accomplished that, you have done it with panache. I've experienced the same thing myself, twice lately, and it's an uncomfortable and annoying feeling. You treat the subject with such humour that I'm sure your muse will return, if only bcause it doesn't want to be left out of the fun. Great stuff!
Oh I love this .. it's funny yet hiding quite a dilemma! I'm not sure whether or not you're going through a writer's block or what, but whatever, your humour and wonderful skill as a writer keeps you issuing forth finely metered work!
Tell you what, I'll pack my bag, you pack yours and we'll go find who or whatever on that cruise boat, ok?!
oh how wonderful you talk about her gone away maybe..
running from too much cold and snow..maybe waiting..
warmth of spring so that she comes and sing
again..and not leaving too much room
hushed quiet, too much like a tomb
lovely write..
A cruise to a sun shiny place sounds good about now!
This is adorable! I've sure enjoyed the read. Rather comical too.
We've all been in search of our muse; more than once I'm sure.
Even they need a vacation? hahaha Is that why my suitcase comes up missing?
Have a wonderful day! Hey this was great even without her!!
We do have to wonder where it is that they wander off to, don't we? I like to use that Australian expression and say that mine went "on a walk-about." Your muse wasn't on an ocean cruise when you wrote this, Ellen. No, she was right there guiding your clever words and excellent meter and rhyme.
Great job here.. a missing muse is not so funny when we seek inspiration! Aspiration grows and those inspired wilt without replenishing.. which your words clearly show here.. I have to say I love the combination of the image with this.. it's a really great match .. missing a friend here on WC perhaps??? I hope she comes back before spring to inspire you! Really applaud you on this high rhythm and flow.. just fantastic!
