MY CHILD

MY CHILD

A Poem by Ellen Hammond
"

When my youngest daughter was 17, she had a concrete streetlight fall on her. It was a hard ordeal to watch her go through so much pain and surgery. But thank God, she is alive and well today. Sitting by her bedside, this poem came to me.

"

MY CHILD

As I watch my child suffering
Through this serious ordeal
I'd rather bear the pain myself
It seems unfair and so unreal

She is fair and understanding
Why is she facing such a test?
I find it inconceivable
To imagine "Its for the best"

Romans 8:28 tells me
"All things work together for good"
In this hope I'd gain some comfort
If I truly believed it would

I do trust you, Lord, with my life
Help me to leave her in your care
Knowing that whatever happens
Your love will always be right there

I've gained a new appreciation
Of God the Father's love for me
For He watched and did not intervene
As Jesus died upon that tree

Thank you for sharing, You are right, I'm one of the curious, your daughter is beautiful. I checked. Your faith is so strong, I want it to rub off on all of us. God Bless you.
Hugs.....Annie

P.S My dear friend, please say a little prayer for me, I will need it tomorrow, I'm having some procedures done at the hospital, I'm a little nervous.

And for my curious friends, the little pic beside this poem was taken last year when she was 31.
