INSIGHT

INSIGHT

A Poem by Ellen Hammond

INSIGHT

If  I always had warm sunshine
And never saw clouds or rain
I would take the sun for granted
Time, and time, and time again

If my life was filled with gladness
And seldom a hurt or pain
I would never grow in wisdom
A naive child I'd remain

For trials and tribulation
Build character and give strength
They impart an understanding
Ne'er gleaned in books of great length

When all around us is darkness
A faint flame can shed clear light
Experience, the chief  teacher
Kindles the spark of insight

It's in times of stormy weather
I appreciate the fair
Thru turbulent days of hardship
I give thanks that God is there

My friend you amaze me, Your poems are making getting up in the morning a pleasure. So real and true are
your words. We forget what life is about, we become blind, deaf and senseless. A person with much pain in
her or his life, become more sensitive toward other's tribulations, boredom for selfish others. I admire your wisdom (yes again) and will always. If I read enough of your poems, I hope a little will brush off in my direction. Thank you Ellen for sharing with me your awesome gift. I'm not strong enough to endure your pain, as a Victim Soul. God Bless you.
In friendship
Hugs....Annie

Other than complimenting you on your writing skill, about all I can say here is that you are very wise.

Your beautiful poem points out that God is with us through the rain, He is there. When I remember some tragic times in my life, I was never alone. Thank you for this gorgeous poem!

this is so simple and the TRUTH OF LIFE....Indeed a rainy day can only make us appreciate the sunny ones...!!
God has chosen you to write this poem to illuminate the simple things which are so important in life and yet we take them for granted, like a normal sunny day....
