INSIGHTA Poem by Ellen HammondINSIGHT
If I always had warm sunshine
And never saw clouds or rain
I would take the sun for granted
Time, and time, and time again
If my life was filled with gladness
And seldom a hurt or pain
I would never grow in wisdom
A naive child I'd remain
For trials and tribulation
Build character and give strength
They impart an understanding
Ne'er gleaned in books of great length
When all around us is darkness
A faint flame can shed clear light
Experience, the chief teacher
Kindles the spark of insight
It's in times of stormy weather
I appreciate the fair
Thru turbulent days of hardship
I give thanks that God is there
