THE GAME

THE GAME

A Poem by Ellen Hammond
"

Many think of dating, and even love as a game. But, sometimes, when they least expect it, their game turns unexpectedly to reality as their hearts gets caught up in the web of romance.

"

THE GAME

I thought it would be easy

To play the game with you

But I feel very lonesome

Times together seem so few

Your sweet kiss leaves me breathless

And yearning for much more

A piece of me goes with you

As you walk out of my door

I've so much love to give you

With arms to hold you tight

I wish you could stay with me

And cuddle through the night

I've played the game so often

It suited me just fine

No man could hold my interest

Or truly become mine

But now as each day passes

My love for you grows strong

I'd like to show the world

In your arms I belong

Still I must keep our secret

Bear with you 'til you know

We're meant to be together

Forever our love will grow
