I asked the Lord to show me a way to explain the concept of the Trinity so children could grasp it. Then, as I sat on the rocks overlooking the sea, this poem began to flow through my mind. I penned it but it was truly a gift to share with all who care
THE SEA OF LIFE
Pondering life's mysteries
As I gaze upon the sea
Considering its properties
Brings to mind the Trinity
For I think of God the Father
Looking at this vast expanse
With constant, unchanging power
Whatever the circumstance
Water flowing from the sea
Cleanses all that dare come near it
And watching as it flows back home
Reminds me of God the Spirit
For water always follows
Its predetermined course
No matter where its poured out
It returns to its source
Then filling a new bottle
with sea water just for fun
In the light of all my musing
I think of God the Son
For the water within this vessel
Has the same properties as its source
Though for a while it's limited
In its glory and strength, of course
Even so, our Lord Jesus
Is part of the Father above
Though confined in a human vessel
He is filled with the Spirit of love
Ellen, I received a read request from Mark. I'm glad I followed the recommendation. Like Mark, I love the affirmation of the trinity. I have heard the concept accused, abused, and lambasted by the "One" movement. All of science and physics support the idea that the eternal Godhead is triune. I think of water....In it's basic makeup it's liquid. When boiled it becomes vapor. When frozen it becomes solid. All three forms are still 100% H20 yet different in their application and purpose. SO it is with the Godhead. God the Father is all God yet without beginning or end, eternal. God the Son is all God and all man, the incarnation of God into flesh. God the spirit is all God, but able to disperse and touch millions. The trinity....perfection in 3 forms. Thanks...hope to read more of you soon.
A beautiful musing on the depths of your faith, which seeks to include others adn weave them into the tapesty of your life, rather than exclude them. Your ability to reach out to and understand others is wonderfully represented here.
The sea is a constant source of inspiration, isn't it? Many of my own works have been written by the sea, or influenced by its very nature. I think you have done a marvellous job here in explaining something so complex, in simple terms. Now you must explain where Man fits into the picture, because 'Man' seems to have lost his way on this planet, and perhaps the sea has an answer for us there also. Certainly, contemplation of nature and the tides will be more beneficial to our souls than a day spent watching the stocks rise and fall in Wall Street, I think we can all see that. Good one, Ellen.
Dear Ellen, The Sea od Life has truly been a beautiful write. It speaks to my soul and warms my heart. Well done!
P.S. I was also in a serious car accident, but God still blesses and uses us. xxox

A very divine sense of earth and heaven as you ponder, watching the sea. I love your simile for spirits who cross over from this world to the next. Cleverly and beautifully done. :)
To think is to have in mind, to think and understand is to keep in mind, to think, understand and hold dear is the Trinity. Your words are truly wonderful both in content and belief. Think on this .. there is more water on this earth than there is land.. God willing Mankind will be cleansed and will, one day, understand the true meaning of the Creator and his beloved Son.
Goodness me !! What wonderful, powerful, glorious writes you come away with. You can produce the most amazing stuff Ellen. You have indeed been chosen as a special being on earth by providing poetry such as this spiritual piece for us all to share. Thanking you humbly for just that my friend.
Wow Ellen very stunning... showing that everything comes full circle on earth and in heaven and the comparison to bottling sea water and Christ was brilliant and inspirational.
Even so, our Lord Jesus
Is part of the Father above
"Beware, lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principals of the world and not according to Christ. For in Him, dwells the fulness of the Godhead bodily." The Epistle of Paul to the Colossians 2nd chapter, verses 8-9 The New Testament NRKJV..... St. Paul tells us that Jesus is God completely, The Alp[ha and The Omega, The First and The Last That which Is and Was and Is to come, The Almighty God. That seems like a little more than "part" to me. That seems like "Everything". Just mine and St. Pauls opinion.
