THE ROSE OF LOVEA Poem by Ellen HammondThis is a true account of Momma's death, November 6,199l. THE ROSE OF LOVE
"I am the Rose of Sharon,"
Keeps entering my head,
While tears freely flow,
Beside Momma's death bed.
Lord, she's suffered so long,
Help me to let go,
To give her assurance,
For she needs to know,
That I will be fine,
And be able to cope.
I'll work through my grief,
With God's grace and hope. Autumn has been cold.
We've had frost many days. Yet outside her window,
Blooms a rose they call Blaze.
This is the first time,
I've noticed that flower,
A blessed reminder,
Of God's love and power.
Now a soft sweet scent
Of roses, fills the air.
Letting us know,
That Jesus is here.
It's okay to leave Mom,
Just go toward the light.
Your labor is finished.
May your soul take flight,
Into the arms that are
Filled with such love.
He will carry you safely,
To the Father above.
I'll miss you, Momma.
Will forget you never.
For the rose of love,
Blooms forever.
