GRADUATION DAY

I was in my early thirties
When I nearly left this life
For my heart had stopped beating
While under the surgeon's knife.

My body was on the table
They worked to revive me again.
I watched in total amazement
Really stunned to feel no pain.

I drifted to the warm white light
And the farther I rose above
Words can't describe the feeling
Being engulfed in peace and love.

'But Lord, what about my children?
To leave them now would not be fair.'
So He gently reassured me,
They are always in His care.

Then I wanted to go with him
He said my work was not yet done
Still much for me to learn and do
And I had barely just begun.

Only twenty five years later
A drunk driver hit me head on
If not for divine intervention
I surely would have been gone

Suddenly, a pair of angels
Appeared beside me in the car
One just held his hand up, to stop
The engine from going too far

When he gently touched my shoulder
I was filled with peace, without pain
The other took my hand and led me
Back home, to my Lord, once again

Alas, it was just a visit
Once again He sent me back
My work here was not finished
Or there's something I still lack

When my work is finally over
And death comes as it may
Don't weep for me, beloved
At last its graduation day!

Thank you for sharing your experience with me. Yes we have angels among us, a few times in my life I experienced their interventions, why us ? maybe because we are willing to share our experiences with others, God is making it possible for us to do so. I'm a friend of Sheila, she gave me your name. I wrote a true story about a month ago, the event happened almost 3 years ago, please read it if you have the time. The name is "Lifeline", you'll be glad you did. God bless you.

Inspirational.
Compelling.
Happy.
Those are the emotions that this poem evokes for me.
Such a happy rhythm flowing in this poem which just helps to underline the message that death is not bad.
The poem & the rhythm almost seem to contradict.
Death & happiness coupled in a way only the faith in God could manage.
Wonderfully written, a blessing to read.

Yours truly,

I like this. " And I will know, even as I am known" what a wonderful thing; to know, but it pushes faith aside, you know? One only believes in things one hopes...sometimes, hopes without reason. But when one knows, there is no hope and no fear because there is no doubt. It is not a thing "supposed" or "hoped", it is a thing realized in fact. And more facts exist than the human mind ever dared to dream. But we are the image of more than ourselves and with that image comes light and enlightenment. Beautiful.

Extraordinary...Just awesome. I want you to find and read a book I read last year entitled, "Nine Minutes In Heaven", also about the survivor of an auto wreck, also a Minister.

Never have I known anyone with such faith and it flows all the way through your wonderful, emotional poem. You make it all sound "matter of fact"...even "exciting" therefore anyone reading this can only surely look forward to meeting their Maker. I am proud to have you as my friend Ellen.

This is simply amazing experiences that you have shared. I believe this is possible I just never read it from a poet. I hear about those experiences on TV or in a paper but it seems so real coming from your pen. I love this piece. I am so glad Anita B requested that I read this piece. Standing "O".

Graduation day..that is one way to express it..I was DOA twice and had heavenly experiences..smelled the flowers and saw the streets of gold..The last time I was shown the bottom less pit and it was so full the people there were sharing parts of each others faces..The angel flying around the pit was the most beautiful thing I ever saw..no arms..its wings were its arms..a big gold breast plate..a loud voice echoed.."Go and tell my people...hell is full I do not want to expand it again..I awoke in a room full of demons..i started crying Jesus, Jesus and He came up..I could see His shadow but not His face..the demons went away and never came back..A lady in the next hospital bed verified all I had said..None of th edemons had a nose..I asked why..it was because God had not breathed the breath of life into them..God bless..Valentine
