Last Night

Last night

Standing under the stars

Moonshine on my face

I thought about a journey

 

I thought about one foot in front of the other, faith, a leap, wind in my hair, air in my nostrils, leaning forward

I thought about my arms spread wide, embracing, encircling, gathering everything into nothing

 

Last night

Kneeling under the moon

Starlight on my face

I thought about my journey

 

I thought about airplanes, cars, trains, dirty dishes, mud in my hair, joy in my nostrils, picking up… children

I thought about my legs spread wide, entering, delving, filling inside of me

 

Last night

This morning

I was outside

I was inside

I was me and you were

Thanks Rose! I kept adding descriptors after "were" and it all sounded so wrong. So I just had to leave it as is.

Wow...I wanted to say this needs a matching graphic but although it can't hurt, the writing stands alone.
A vividly-told journey that gently takes the reader along for the ride...destination unknown!
I thoroughly enjoyed this one!
